I love Jumpstart, a unique organization in the early childhood space.

Each year, millions of readers come together to read the same book on the same day in celebration of Jumpstart’sRead for the Record campaign. This year, on October 29, 2020, we’ll be readingEvelyn Del Rey is Moving Awayby author Meg Medina.

Read for the Record launched 15 years ago with the mission to build awareness of the critical importance of early literacy. In many underserved communities, children do not have access to the literacy, language, and social-emotional skills they need for school success. I’m asking friends to help support Jumpstart’s campaign and put high-quality books in the hands of children who need them most. Your gift of any amount would help Jumpstart distribute a special edition copy ofEvelyn Del Rey is Moving Away (including activities, vocabulary words, and reading tips) to children in underserved classrooms, as well as support local reading events in their community.

You can find out more about the campaign at readfortherecord.org.

Thank you for supporting early literacy for young children!
