Our Work

The Jumpstart Program

We’re fueled by the core belief that providing high-quality educational opportunities to all young children contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty. With more than six million children across the country living in poverty, the need for Jumpstart’s evidence-based program is at an all-time high.

Where We Serve

Jumpstart’s program is implemented in 14 states and Washington, DC. With alumni in every state and Read for the Record participants across the globe, our reach and impact continue to grow.

Corps Members

Jumpstart recruits and trains college students and community members who implement the Jumpstart program in preschools across the country where the need is highest. Our volunteers, known as Corps members, help prepare children for kindergarten, and set them on a path for lifelong success.

Alumni

The Jumpstart Alumni Network is comprised of nearly 45,000 former Jumpstart Corps members who have completed at least one year of service. From career opportunities to networking events and fundraisers, we have an array of resources exclusively available to our alumni.

Partners

Jumpstart partners with preschools, colleges, universities, and community organizations to recruit volunteers, bring the Jumpstart program to preschools where the need is highest, and provide literacy resources to families.

Supporters

In order to implement the Jumpstart program across the country, we rely on the generous donations and support of foundations, government agencies, and corporations who deeply believe in our mission. We also rely on the generosity of individual donors who envision a world where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Together, we can help all children build the key language and literacy skills they need to take on the world.
