Join Jumpstart on April 26 as we celebrate the power of the written word at our Scribbles to Novels gala in San Francisco. This annual event underscores the importance of early literacy development in young children and reinforces our critical vision — to work toward the day every child enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. The celebratory evening offers cocktails, a seated dinner, full program, and an opportunity to mingle with leaders in business, finance, law, and early education. Last year, 300 advocates showed their support for Jumpstart, raising over $600,000 for Jumpstart programs in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Please contact Anjali Billa, Director of Development, at email@example.com with any questions.
ADONAL FOYLE is an author, Golden State Warriors Community Ambassador, retired NBA player, media analyst, and player advocate.
Adonal’s storied career started with humble beginnings on the island of St. Vincent. His quest for a college education led him to the USA and into the NBA where he spent ten plus years as a Golden State Warriors center. Community. Author. NBA player. These words tell the story of Adonal’s commitment to serving as shown by his philanthropic work and writing. He is the founder of the Kerosene Lamp Foundation which promotes education and health awareness for under-represented youth in our community.
His most recent children’s book, Too Tall Foyle Makes The Team, is the second in a series which chronicles Adonal’s life experiences growing up on a tiny Caribbean island. The book takes the reader on a young boy’s adventures, which include making new friends, facing new challenges, and learning new skills on his way to making the team and finally finding his voice. Adonal resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
