Position Overview

As a member of the Talent Management team, the Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist supports Jumpstart’s vision, mission, brand, organizational imperatives, strategic priorities, culture, and values by delivering high quality customer service in the area of talent acquisition. The individual in this role is responsible for supporting the organization’s recruitment, hiring and retention function through sourcing in the recruiting process. The individual in this role will use various channels to look for potential candidates, contact passive candidates and build talent pipelines for future hiring needs.

Specific Responsibilities

Sourcing and Recruitment Support

  • Source, interact with and cultivate potential candidates via LinkedIn Recruiter, websites, social media and other online platforms, professional associations, and networks, etcetera
  • Support a diverse sourcing and recruitment strategy that enables Jumpstart to achieve its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals: every open position will have a qualified, diverse candidate pool
  • Work directly with recruiters by participating in intake meetings with hiring managers to determine position requirements to procure a rich, quality, diverse pool of candidates for each assigned vacancy
  • Use a collaborative and consultative approach to provide support to recruiters and enhance best practices throughout the recruitment process, while maintaining a focus on the valuable aspects of a positive candidate experience
  • Identify qualified candidate profiles using various sourcing techniques (e.g., crafting Boolean search strings) and craft/send emails to qualified potential Meet diversity thresholds for each step of the recruitment process.
  • Measure conversion rates, including numbers of passive candidates who turn into applicants, get invited to interviews, get offers and get hired
  • Support maintenance of candidate databases (e.g., via LinkedIn Recruiter, HRIS, Applicant Tracking System, etcetera)
  • Ask for/obtain referrals from current employees and external networks
  • Promote our employer brand online and offline
  • Communicate with past applicants regarding new job opportunities
  • Ensure all sourcing practices are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and with Jumpstart’s policies

Measurement and Reporting

  • Provide required sourcing data for Balanced Score Card (BSC) or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Scorecard on a quarterly basis
  • Provide internal daily, weekly and monthly recruiting reports from ADP and analyze data for insights; provide and implement approved recommendations
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
  • Create and maintain sourcing reports for each assigned position

Overall/Other Related Duties

  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Establish strong working relationships and connections throughout the network to represent Jumpstart and the Talent Management team by providing an exceptional level of customer service to all current and prospective staff, and act as a role model in all internal and external interactions
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, and in a way that reflects Jumpstart’s values of learning, joy, community, inclusive leadership, and social justice
  • Help analyze new recruiting tools and software as needed
  • Conduct research on recruitment trends and sources as assigned
  • Participate in Jumpstart committees and contribute to organizational initiatives
  • Stay informed of Jumpstart’s overall benefits package in an effort to attract and retain staff
  • Participate in other Talent Management tasks; responsibilities; and special projects, including, setting annual priorities, team meetings,

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience with proven work experience as a Talent Sourcer or in a similar role
  • High degree of emotional intelligence; comfort level in working and cultivating relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and communities
  • Ability to positively present our company and open roles to potential candidates
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, HRIS databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS’s) and Candidate Management Systems (CMS’s)
  • Beneficial knowledge of HR principles and practices and employment law as related to sourcing and the full recruitment, hiring and retention process
  • Excellent time management skills, and ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously and meet deliverables within appropriate timeframes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Can function as a forward thinker to achieve results, while also focusing on process improvement as needed
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible; a reliable comfort level with shifting gears when priorities change
  • On-going commitment and interest in social justice or diversity, equity, and inclusion work
  • Commitment to Jumpstart’s mission and desire to model the organization’s core values of learning, community, joy, inclusive leadership and social justice

Preferred or Ideal

  • Previous experience in the non-profit sector
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • Prior experience/interest in social justice, or diversity, equity, and inclusion work

Start Date

June 2023 or earlier (desired start date, yet position open until filled)

Location

Flexible locations from one of Jumpstart’s offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Washington, DC.

Salary & Benefits

$67,500 – $70,000 – commensurate with education and experience; along with excellent benefits and a great mission-driven work environment
