Crystal Rountree Joins Jumpstart for Young Children
as New Chief Executive Officer
Rountree joins Jumpstart as the organization prepares to celebrate 30 years of impact in early education
Boston, MA – Today the Board of Directors of national early care and education nonprofit, Jumpstart for Young Children, welcomed Crystal Rountree as its new Chief Executive Officer. Rountree replaces outgoing CEO Naila Bolus, who announced her departure in June 2023.

Rountree has more than two decades of experience in education and organizational leadership having recently transitioned from her position as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue and Development Officer at Teach For America to join Jumpstart. During her time at Teach For America, Rountree led regional teams focused on local community impact. She also led, national strategic initiatives, a team of regional executive directors, as well as recruitment and fundraising efforts enabling positive impact and transformation for students and young people across the US, and within the education sector.
As Jumpstart’s new chief executive officer, Rountree is leading the national early care and education nonprofit and a dedicated team working on 65 college campuses across 14 states and the District of Columbia providing college students with high-quality training and ongoing coaching poised to deliver Jumpstart’s research-based early childhood curriculum to over 14,000 children living in underserved communities in 2024.
