Remembering Eric Carle

Today we remember Eric Carle, one of the most beloved children’s book authors of our time. Eric Carle gave us the gift of dozens of children’s books, including the timeless classic, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” enjoyed by generations of young readers.

We spoke with Eric a couple of years ago to honor his contributions to Jumpstart as a Read for the Record author, and will leave you with this quote from him about the importance of reading with a child:

“Through the simple act of holding your child close while you read to them, you let them know that you care for them, have time for them, and love them.”
