These last few months have been filled with so much uncertainty—and this is not the way we hoped your Jumpstart experience or your academic year would conclude. However, I continue to be reminded of just how incredible, creative, and dedicated the Jumpstart community is to supporting young learners and to educational equity. As children all over the country continue to face learning loss as a result of this extended out-of-school time, I want to thank you—our Corps Members—for helping Jumpstart put children first. While much is unknown about the long-term impacts of COVID-19, your commitment to young children in underserved communities is more critical than ever.
Jumpstart will be back in action next fall. And, we will need YOU! Depending on where in the country you are located and your individual college/university setting, Jumpstart may look a bit different. We are currently working on a variety of scenarios to ensure you are able to safely serve with Jumpstart next semester.
As you head into summer, here are some next steps to consider:
- If you are not graduating this year, re-apply to serve with us again next fall! You will be needed more than ever.
- If you are graduating, join our Alumni Network today and explore ways to continue your service and connect with over 55,000 Jumpstart alumni from universities and colleges all across the country.
- If you have any questions regarding your current Jumpstart service, reach out directly to your Site Manager.
- Share your experience with Jumpstart. Let us know what you learned, how you grew, and what you will take with you on your own journey.
