Now Accepting Proposals for Read for the Record 2019

December 19, 2018 (BOSTON) — After another successful Read for the Record (more than 1.7 million readers!) this past October, Jumpstart is now seeking proposals for our 2019 campaign book! Each year, Jumpstart selects one children’s book to be the featured book of the Read for the Record campaign: that book is then published as a paperback special edition in English and Spanish, and read on the designated campaign day in the Fall by young readers (ages 3-7) across the country, all to promote the power of reading. As part of this process, Jumpstart seeks a publisher to be an active partner in the campaign, collaborating on marketing, public relations, and visibility of the overall campaign, and helping to promote special edition book sales.

Jumpstart’s Request for Proposals is now live and we are accepting proposals from prospective publishers. We invite publishers to submit a proposal of book titles they deem fitting for our 2019 Read for the Record campaign. We focus on diverse and inclusive books that enhance young children’s language, literacy, and social-emotional skills with rich, thought-provoking content and characters that provide a variety of topics and questions for Jumpstart volunteers and Read for the Record participants to discuss with children.

Proposals are due Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
