2018 Scribbles to Novels Raises $1.1M for NY, NJ, CT, and PA!

April 18, 2018 (NEW YORK) — Thank you to our Host Committee, sponsors, and guests for together raising $1.1m in support of Jumpstart’s local programming at the 2018 Scribbles to Novels gala on April 18, 2018. This year’s event was once again held at Capitale and featured six celebrated writers during the Authors Circle. Chris Stadler, Jumpstart’s National Board co-chair, kicked off the evening by welcoming attendees and remarking on the impact of their support. Current Jumpstart college student volunteers then encouraged attendees to participate in several literary activities and songs which transformed the venue into a Jumpstart classroom!

Monroe College student Ideline Checo described how Jumpstart has made a difference in her life and detailed how the program supports Jumpstart children throughout the school year. Celebrity auctioneer and Jumpstart National Board member Nigel Barker facilitated the live auction and appeal which raised $230,000! This incredible level of support will make a huge difference in the lives of the preschool children and college student volunteers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. We thank you again and hope to see you in 2019!
