Board Members Transform Learning Space

January 22, 2018 (NEW YORK) — Earlier this week, Jumpstart Local Advisory Board (LAB) and National Board Members completed their transformation service project at the Grand Street Head Start in the Lower East Side, where NYU Corps Members currently serve in two classrooms. The board raised funds to completely transform a multi-purpose room that is used for pull-out services for children (social services, occupational therapy, and speech therapy) as well as parent events, and a teachers’ lounge! The space is now not only functional, but colorful, kid friendly, and inviting with some of Jumpstart’s favorite book covers hung on the walls, a Jumpstart library and new tables, chairs, storage units, and kitchen supplies.

We are so grateful for our board members’ efforts to update this space in one of our Jumpstart centers!
