Carolyn, a recent graduate of Bridgewater State University (BSU) in Massachusetts, credits Jumpstart for preparing her to enter a career in teaching. “Much of my knowledge, strengths, and teaching abilities, I learned during my time with Jumpstart. In fact, a lot of the skills we are working on in my student-teacher classroom are skills I already knew because of Jumpstart!”

“Jumpstart definitely had a major impact on my decision to become a teacher, and I will forever credit it as being a very pivotal aspect of my time at BSU.”

Carolyn served as a team leader in her final year of service, taking on additional roles and responsibilities in the classroom and with her peers. “Being a team leader helped me so much with my communication, leadership, and overall classroom management skills. It helped me to learn how to effectively and efficiently communicate with co-workers, delegate, interpret lesson plans, and more comfortably run a classroom.”

Thanks to her service with Jumpstart, Carolyn was confident and prepared when it came time to choose her next move after college. “Jumpstart definitely had a major impact on my decision to become a teacher, and I will forever credit it as being a very pivotal aspect of my time at BSU.”
