December 11, 2017 (BOSTON) — After another successful Read for the Record this past October, Jumpstart is now seeking the 2018 book! Each year, Jumpstart selects one children’s book to be the featured book of the Read for the Record campaign: that book is then published as a paperback special edition in English and Spanish, and then read on the designated campaign day in October by young readers (ages 3-6) across the country, all to promote the power of reading. As part of this process, Jumpstart seeks a publisher to be an active partner in the campaign, collaborating on marketing, public relations, and visibility of the overall campaign, and helping to promote special edition book sales.
Jumpstart’s Request for Proposals is now live and we are accepting proposals from prospective publishers. We invite publishers to submit a proposal of book titles they deem fitting for our 2018 Read for the Record campaign. We focus on diverse and inclusive books that enhance young children’s language, literacy, and social-emotional skills with rich, thought-provoking content and characters that provide a variety of topics and questions for Jumpstart volunteers and Read for the Record participants to discuss with children.
Proposals are due Friday, January 12, 2018.
