SAN FRANCISCO (June 9, 2017) — Earlier this month, 16 volunteers from Deloitte visited Frandelja, one of Jumpstart’s preschool sites in SF, to build out the reading areas in their preschool classroom and two toddler classrooms. This event was held as a part of Deloitte’s annual day of service, IMPACT Day. The Deloitte volunteers helped create a new enriched reading areas based on the themes of Reading Garden, Pete the Cat, and Eric Carle (Hungry Caterpillar). Deloitte also donated a set of books in keeping with the theme for each room. The new reading areas will create a welcoming, fun, and exciting space in the classroom dedicated to reading time!
Volunteers also built new Puppet Theaters, complete with puppets and felt knits that corresponded with each of the donated books to further extend the children’s learning experience in the reading areas.
Jumpstart thanks every volunteer that helped to enliven the reading areas of these classrooms for the children we serve in the San Francisco area!
