GoogleServe Kicks Off with Jumpstart Work Party

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 5, 2017) — Jumpstart kicked off GoogleServe, Google’s annual month of service, earlier this week with a work party to create materials for Jumpstart classrooms. The event was held as Google’s new Community space, and included 65 Google employee volunteers who helped create to 800 Story Retelling kits to be distributed with this year’s Read for the Record book, Quackers. They also helped create literacy kits for Jumpstart children in the Bay Area, including 400 Alphabet Scavenger Hunt, 400 Family and Friends Bookmarks, and 300 Blank Books. These materials will be a paired with a new book for each child.

A big thank you to Google employees for helping us as we gear up for the year ahead and work to prepare our partner children for success this coming year, in kindergarten, and beyond!
