BOSTON (April 16, 2017) — CBS Boston recently featured Jumpstart in its 4 Your Community segment and sat down with Jumpstart President & CEO, Naila Bolus, to discuss our work in the Boston area and provide tips for parents of young children. Naila discussed the need for program’s like Jumpstart, and the impact our volunteer Corps members make with the young children we serve.
“What we know about low-income children is that they are entering kindergarten well behind their wealthier peers — sometimes as much as 18 months behind — and if they start behind, they tend to stay behind. And our organization is about closing that gap for them so they start kindergarten really ready to succeed.” – Naila Bolus
