WHAT:
Jumpstart, a national early education organization based in Boston, announced today the appointment of Mark Reilly as the new Executive Director of the Northeast region. In this role, Mark will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Jumpstart’s operations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including maintaining high-quality early childhood programming, managing community and corporate partnerships, developing and executing fundraising plans, and leading efforts to reach more young children in the region.
WHO:
Mark joins the Jumpstart team from Governor Deval Patrick's administration, having most recently served as Chief Legal Counsel since 2010. Mark's career is a testament to his commitment to public service and social justice. After graduating with a degree in political science at Davidson College, Mark served as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer in Los Angeles. While a student at Boston College Law School, Mark represented children and parents in child abuse and neglect cases in Lynn and Lawrence as a University of Michigan Child Welfare Law Fellow.
Mark joined Governor Patrick's administration on inauguration day in 2007 and advanced to the highest legal position on staff within three years. In his role, Mark advised the Governor and his staff on a variety of complex legal and policy matters, and maintained oversight of hundreds of attorneys throughout the Administration as well as the Judicial Nominating Commission.
Mark will officially join Jumpstart on September 1st. He lives in Dedham, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
