Jumpstart’s Playdate with a Purpose brings young children and families together to read classic children’s books and participate in fun learning activities, while at the same time providing a tangible way for families and their children to play it forward to children in low-income neighborhoods.
How It Works
Once you register for Jumpstart's Playdate with a Purpose you will have access to Jumpstart's incredible Playdate guides! Jumpstart's Playdate guide includes book-themed activities, snack suggestions, and a charitable activity to bring the book to life and extend the story beyond the page. As Jumpstart’s early education experts create new Playdates, parents receive an email with a link to the new Playdate guide.
Playing It Forward
All parents want to do the best for their children and set them up for future school success. Exposure to early literacy is a key factor in a child’s future academic achievement. Unfortunately many families and preschools in low-income neighborhoods do not have access to the resources necessary to ensure that their children are ready for school and ready for life. Jumpstart’s Playdate with a Purpose helps parents expose their own children to early language and literacy experiences, and through a donation to Jumpstart as part of the play it forward component, families can help provide books, supplies, and Jumpstart’s proven program to children in need, while also helping instill charitable values in their children.
