JUMPSTART RECEIVES SOCIAL CAPITALIST AWARD

For the fourth consecutive year, Jumpstart was named one of America’s top nonprofit organizations through the Fast Company/Monitor Group Social Capitalist Awards. The program honors nonprofits, or “social entrepreneurs,” who combine creativity and ingenuity with business-solutions to address social issues. Read more>>

MITCH ALBOM & STARBUCKS SUPPORT JUMPSTART

This fall, Jumpstart’s corporate partner, Starbucks Coffee Company, expanded its entertainment offerings through book sales in stores nationwide. To kick off the program, the company has been selling Mitch Albom’s (author of Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven) newest novel, For One More Day, with $1 per book sold donated to Jumpstart. Mitch also appeared on the CBS Early Show to promote the exciting partnership (Read more and watch the video), and stopped at Starbucks locations across the country to personally lead book discussions. JUMPSTART FEATURED IN TOWN & COUNTRY MAGAZINE
The January issue of Town & Country magazine highlights 25 outstanding children's charities, including Jumpstart, as well as a featured photograph of Jumpstart children in New York City. JUMPSTART ATTENDS PREMIERE NATIONAL EARLY EDUCATION CONFERENCE
Each year, Jumpstart sends members of its staff to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference & Expo to share lessons as a leader in early education, spread the work about our organization, and learn from experts in the field. OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN BOOK SELECTED FOR JUMPSTART'S READ FOR THE RECORD

We are happy to announce the official book for Jumpstart’s Read for the Record 2007 Campaign – the beloved classic tale of a bull that refused to be bull-ied into behaving differently, The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf. While all the other bulls would run, jump, and butt their heads, Ferdinand would rather sit and smell the flowers.
