From the day Jumpstart was founded by three college students nineteen years ago, we have been inspired by the core belief that all children are born with potential, regardless of the zip code they were born into. Our journey has taken us from a single site at Yale University in New Haven, CT, to some 500 classrooms in 31 cities today. We have been through times of greatly accelerated pace and other times when we have hit a sure and steady stride.

Today marks yet another benchmark in Jumpstart’s journey. It is a time of real momentum for our cause. The urgent need for quality early childhood education has grabbed the national spotlight and Jumpstart is seizing this window of opportunity. In recent months, we have established a National Early Education Council comprised of renowned scholars and leaders from all over the country. We are preparing to launch our seventh Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® campaign, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, bringing important attention to our mission of preparing all children to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. And, today we launch our new website. Our hope is that this website will serve as a platform to tell Jumpstart’s stories of impact, and a forum to inspire our supporters, both new and old. While the Jumpstart family stands energized and motivated for the road ahead, we know we have a lot of work to do.
