Community Corps

Community Corps members are caring adults of diverse backgrounds and ages who implement the same session curriculum as college Corps members. These members often serve the communities where they live.  

Jumpstart Community Corps programs started in Boston in 2004 and are currently in Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles with plans to"I definitely discovered my strengths and career in the remaining senior years! Thank you. I realize my life is not over – it’s only just begun! I’m a late bloomer!"
-Community Corps member, Boston grow next year into Atlanta. In 2011-2012, 118 community members were engaged in Jumpstart service.  

Over 55% of our Community Corps members return for multiple years with 34% of the current year’s members completing four or more years with Jumpstart!

Community Corps offers a unique opportunity for adults of any age to get involved in service.  Jumpstart partners with community organizations to recruit and engage the valuable and growing older adult population.  In 2011-2012, 62% of our Community Corps members were over the age of 65!
