Awards and Recognition for Jumpstart
At Jumpstart, we measure success by how well we prepare a child to succeed, not by how many awards we take home. But we must admit, it’s gratifying to be recognized by our peers for a job well done. Here are a few of our accolades.
AmeriCorps Spirit of Service Award
In celebration of AmeriCorps Week, the Corporation for National and Community Service honored outstanding AmeriCorps members, alums and corporate sponsors with the Spirit of Service Award. Jumpstart, together with the Pearson Foundation, received this award in honor of the exceptional partnership and overall quality of Jumpstart’s national service program.
Bank of America Neighborhood Builder Award
Jumpstart received the Bank of America Neighborhood Builder Award which recognizes, nurtures, and rewards community-based organizations, local heroes, and student leaders working to improve their communities.
Boston Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Award
In recognition of the Pearson Foundation’s relationship with Jumpstart, Pearson received the Boston Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Award for Education Partner of the Year with Jumpstart. This award acknowledges corporations for its innovative and strategic partnerships with non-profit organizations, including volunteerism, charitable donations and board participation.
Carter Partnership Award
Jumpstart is a recipient of the Carter Partnership Award, which recognizes the efforts of campus and community groups working together to address critical areas of public need. This award is named in honor of President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, as a tribute to their lifelong efforts to develop and support safe, healthy and caring communities throughout the world.
Cause Marketing Halo Award
One of the most coveted awards in cause marketing, the Cause Marketing Halo Award recognizes exceptional non-profit organizations that are focused on using business resources to extend a nonprofit’s message in advertising, marketing and public relations. In partnership with the Pearson Foundation, Jumpstart received the Gold Award for Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® campaign, setting a new world record for the number of adults and children reading the same book in a single day. The resulting media exposure brought national attention to early education, including a live event on NBC’s Today Show.
Charity Navigator Four Star Rating
Jumpstart is proud to have a Four Star Charity rating, the highest distinction given by Charity Navigator. Charity Navigator is America's largest independent charity evaluator, which since 2002 has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. This rating is a reflection of Jumpstart's sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency.
Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) Award
Jumpstart is a proud recipient of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) Award in recognition of its collaborative partnership with Starbucks and the Pearson Foundation.
Fast Company Social Capitalist Award
Since 2004, Jumpstart has been a five-time recipient of the Fast Company Social Capitalist Award, which recognizes organizations that use disciplines of the corporate world to tackle daunting social problems.
Independent Charities of America
Jumpstart is the recipient of the “Best in America” seal from Independent Charities of America, which recognizes organizations that meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness and cost effectiveness. With less than 1% of charities in the United States awarded this Seal, Jumpstart is proud to receive this distinguished honor.
Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility
